Caring for children has been part of my life from a very young age. I stumbled into the ECE field in high school as an experiment, and found myself growing a passion for teaching and working with children. Throughout my teaching career, I earned several certificates, an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Colorado Christian University, with a teaching Licensure for grades Preschool to grade 3.
I began working in Early Childhood Education in 2005 as a preschool teacher, eventually working with children from 6 weeks to elementary age students for the first 10 years of my career. Subsequently, I served as the Director of Education at a preschool in Denver for 9 years, guiding teachers and students toward exceptional early childhood education. I then worked alongside elementary students and teachers to create positive and inclusive learning environments through individual academic assistance, behavior support, and instruction to meet diverse student needs.
My love for quality teaching and care has developed into a true passion in my life. I truly believe that the care children receive early in life is critical to their success as they grow. The way teachers make children feel about themselves significantly affects their lifelong growth in their love of learning. “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6, NIV). This verse influences my interactions with teachers and students as I strive to teach with understanding, love, and kindness. Making students feel loved and cared for, regardless of their age or ability, is a priority. Expressing love through expectations of greatness is critical to positive interactions and continued success.
I look forward to continuing to provide exceptional care for the young children at Little Red Barn Nursery. As a mother of three, I hold children’s success and development very dear to my heart. I am thankful to be part of a community where passion and quality care are central, and where we are committed to doing what is best for the infants we care for daily at the Little Red Barn Nursery.
